He finally added to that during the 3-0 victory over Derby County, as he ended up stealing a goal off of Luke Shaw.
Considering it was the opening goal of the game, it should have caused jubilation, but plenty of Manchester United fans were actually finding it amusing.
Shaw had volleyed the ball into the floor, before it cannoned back up and went off Lingard’s back and over Rams goalkeeper Kelle Roos.
His intervention was difficult to notice at first, but it became clear with picture evidence and fans found it funny.

Some have even been comparing him to other high profile players, with one saying he scores “better no look goals than Firmino”.
There have been references to other talented stars of past and present, with one saying “De Bruyne has posters of Lingard in his room”, while another added “Ronaldinho [is] watching in jealousy”.
It is pretty clear to see that this goal brought Man United fans plenty of amusement, in addition to the joy of putting the team into the lead.
